lost+found

edited July 2011 in JoCo Music
I just noticed there is a new section on the JoCo Music Page, with You Oughta Know (Alanis Morissette cover and PG versions of Code Monkey and Mandelbrot Set.

I always love to hear new JoCo stuff, so I was quite surprised about the Alanis Morissette cover! :D

  • I already had the Alanis cover and two PG versions of Code Monkey (he blogged about them at the time) but I was pleasantly surprised by the PG Mandelbrot Set and intended to mention it here. :)

I can't be the only one who chuckled after hearing JoCo singing "will she go down on you in a theater?"
    Also: Quite brilliant.

    EDIT:

Not as enthusiastic about the PG Code Monkey; the edited words feel really out of place.
PG Mandelbrot Set is more inspired with the modem sounds (yay for old-school computing!).

  • that's been out a while. Here is JoCo's blog post on it.

  • Hm, linking to that old blog post reminded me to check something: looks like the free Thing a Week mp3s are no longer accessible through the blog.
  • @Icemage, if you don't like the backmasked PG Code Monkey on the music page, you might prefer the original PG Code Monkey, which just has blanks in place of the bad words. Although it looks like the link to the mp3 of that is broken too. Do you think these broken links were intentional ('cause we all know how much JoCo hates people getting his music for free ;) ) or an unintended result of the website update? I noticed that the smileyface free song links go to archive.org these days rather than http://www.jonathancoulton.com/mp3/Song Name.mp3, though everything else (except for the first PG Code Monkey, which looks like it was overwritten by the backmasked one) seems to have been simply relocated to the same path on http://songs.jonathancoulton.com instead of http://(www.)jonathancoulton.com (sshhh, don't tell anyone I said that.)

Should I put the original PG Code Monkey up on box.net or somewhere so people can get it? I probably will.

I couldn't find a blog entry about the PG Mandelbrot Set, though it's in the FAQ.
